#004     735     MULFORD & BIDDLE.     Aqua/citrine with amber.

Aqua glass with amber impurities streaked throughout creates and overall citrine appearance.  This rarity is different than the handful of the known "usual" citrine units, as it has a more defined separation between the aqua and amber.  A unique and desirable threadless from the 1860's.

Just a hint of very minor flaking on the base.  Wire ridge bruise is neatly invisible (to to the right in 2nd image).  Annealing line in the skirt stays mostly at the surface, but a portion does go deeper (see 3rd image).

One of the more desirable gems for the late Lawrence Carpenter collection.
