Description

#040      CD 102      WESTINGHOUSE   NO 3.     Light green.

A rather scarce embossing for a pony style insulator.  CD 102 Westinghouse insulators have been found in limited locations, including Wisconsin.

An interesting characteristic about some glass Westinghouse insulators is the peculiar separation marks on the interior surface of the glass.  There are often times shallow crevices on the surface, much like that of a thin layer of mud on a hard surface that has contracted while quickly drying.  This obviously has to do with the glass formula and reaction to a lower temperature threaded mandrel being inserted into the molten glass.  Quite a unique feature to this type insulator.

Exceptional, very near mint condition.
