Description

#068      CD 133.2      L.A.C.   PATD JULY 25TH 1865      P&W       Minty green.

This type telegraph insulator is believed to have possibly been produced at a glass factory in the Beaver Falls area.  The "L.A.C." marking is in reference to Louis A. Cauvet's patent for a threaded interior and corresponding threaded pin.  The meaning of the "P&W" lettering is unknown at this time.

The glass color is termed "minty green" as it is similar to a pastel green candy mint.  Some might term it "green aqua," but we personally do not see aqua in the glass color.

8:10 A.M Saturday, March 28.  Update.  We forgot to state the condition in the initial description.  It is very near mint+.  Exceptional condition, especially for an item this old!
