Description

#138     CD 126      W. BROOKFIELD.    55 FULTON ST. N.Y.     PAT. FEB 22ND 1870.     JAN 25TH 1870     JAN 14TH 1870.     Vivid mustard.

A highly desirable and seldom encountered color for a Brookfield "blob top," a design widely used by telegraph companies during the 1870's.  Most often found in aquamarine colored glass, various other hues exist.  Numerous green shades and tones are scarce, with the rarer mustard, amber and purple units being the most desirable and elusive.

Very near mint.

Dick Bowman collection.
