Description

#184     738     Unmarked.     Dark teal.

A historical relic that still retains portions of the rusted tie wire.  Similar examples were recovered with 701.6 Confederate eggs in 1990 at the site of a Civil War era warehouse in Richmond, Virginia.  This one very likely came from that site, as it's partially warped out of round from heat exposure, and has the same surface staining as other known examples of pilgrim hats from the Richmond dig.

Fingernail chip at dome corner.  Surface staining.  Sizable skirt piece missing (second photo).  Displays quite well as shown in the first photo.
