Description

#216     731     M.    Dark aqua.

The glass has a sparkling teal tone.  Generally believed to be one of many insulator styles produced by a glasshouse in the Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania area.  Numerous exotic blue, green and teal hues/shades have been found in the family of insulators believed to have been produced at this location.  Apparently, colored soda and other types of bottles were being produced at the factory, explaining the wide variety of colors.

A rather scarce marking for a concave skirt threadless.

Wooden match head flake on the wire ridge.  Shallow base flake encompasses only the area of a pinkie nail.     Sparkling, shiny glass!  Very nice condition for such a scarce threadless.

Ross Baird collection.
