Description

#243     CD 123     E.C& M CO S.F.     Dark olive amber.      "H" mold with 3-11/16" height.

Olive amber EC&M’s have been discovered along the routes of two communication lines operated by the Nevada & California Telegraph Company.  One was between Austin and Battle Mountain, Nevada and the other between Aurora and Candelaria, Nevada.  They have surfaced in both the “B” and “H” mold variants.  In the middle to late 1960’s several olive amber examples were still in service on the Austin to Battle Mountain route, much to the delight of early day collectors!

An attractive short example!  Has the "H" mold characteristics with small raised areas of glass in the wire groove.

Pencil eraser diameter, shallow surface bruise, up form the base.  Minor, shallow base flakes are small.  The diagonal light area to the left of center, near the base, is not damage.  Rather, a reflection from a swirled fold in the interior glass surface.

Very nice condition for an EC&M!

From the collection of the late John Ayer.

Update..... 9:30 A.M. Thursday, April 30.  Second image added, showing the excellent condition base.
