Description

#248     CD 145       H.G. CO.      PETTICOAT         Yellow amber.      Mould letter “I.”

The lightest of the three main amber shades which are typically found in H.G. Co. beehives.  Most were found on communication lines along the Great Northern Railway route in western Montana, northern Idaho and eastern Washington.  Numerous tiny bubbles inside the glass add sparkle!

Shallow surface flake, below the front wire groove is a little larger than a wooden match head.  Two small flakes on reverse, both a little smaller than an apple seed can be seen to the far right in the second photo. One is below the wire groove and one is in the upper part of the wire groove.  Other dark areas inside the wire groove are reflections, not damage.

From the collection of the late John Ayer.
