Description

#376        CD 135       CHI. INS. CO.      PAT OCT 16 1883.     Blue aqua.

The larger size "Chicago Diamond Groove" with shoulder embossing.  A uniquely designed insulator with diamond shaped cutouts within the body, creating less contact between the tie wire and the insulator surface.  Examples have been found in New York State, Illinois and Nebraska.  Some were also seen on poles in Panama many years ago.  However, the majority of those now in collections were recovered in Mexico.

Milky opaque, yarn-like string within the glass traverses all the way around the insulator, adding character!

Shallow, half pinkie nail flake above one of the diamonds. Shallow, pencil eraser diameter surface bruise and associated, smaller base flake.  Overall, a very nice looking example.

BUY-NOW option was removed once the reserve price was met.

Buy-Now and auction purchases will be invoiced by email prior to 12 noon, Tuesday, June 2.  Invoices will also be viewable to purchasers on the auction site at that time.
