Description

#388       CD 145       H. G. CO.       PETTICOAT.     A.         Depression green.

High quality glass with excellent clarity and overall quality.  Produced by the Hemingray Glass Company, likely from glass originally created to manufacture another specially colored product.  Some of the exotically colored insulators made in the 1870 to 1895 era were the result of excess glass being used, left over from production runs of lamps, bottles and other specially colored wares.  It was probably not until the 1890's and later that most specially colored insulators were intentionally produced.

Very near mint+.
