Description

#468      CD 134       (P within a diamond)      PAT. AUG 11. 85.       Blue.

A rarely encountered color!  All blue shades/tones are seldom encountered in this insulator.  We've seen perhaps only one or two somewhat similar examples, but even they were likely a different shade/tone.

Produced using James Pennycuick's 1885 patented method of producing screw threads in glass.

Certainly one of the most elusive and desirable "Pennycuick" type insulators to be offered for sale in the past decade!

Spiraling folds on the glass surface of the dome and some air pockets in the pinhole add attractive character!

Easily grades very near mint, with a small nick in the wire ridge (see patent dated photo, at far left).  Dark spots at left base in same photo are bubbles, not damage.
