#479 CD 162 BROOKFIELD NEW YORK Dark Amber.
A heavy, stocky style, signal insulator produced by Brookfield, likely using cullet from amber bottles. Aqua units are quite common, but attractive amber examples seldom surface for sale.
Shallow surface chip removes the "W" and a portion of the crossbars in "E" (second photo). Pot stone inside the inner skirt has three fracture radiations, which likely occurred at the glasshouse at time of manufacture due to uneven cooling. Light spots on wire ridge are totally enclosed bubbles, not damage.
Attractive folds on the glass surface add character and create an "old" appearance.
