Description

#528       701.6      Unmarked.      Green.

Found at the site of a Civl War warehouse in 1990 which reportedly was destroyed in the great Richmond fire of April, 1865.  This example was distorted from the intense heat, telling the story of that historic day when Union forces entered the city and residents and Confederate forces fled.  A great example to accompany one in excellent condition.

The insulator was compressed when hot, resulting in a wide stature from one angle and a thin one from another view.

Chip on the wire ridge (side shown in first photo).  View of opposite side shows a thumbnail chip on dome, base chip, and slice along the base edge (third photo).

"See through green" is a rarely encountered color in this insulator style!
