Description

#536      735      MULFORD & BIDDLE.       Light aqua.

Produced for Mulford & Biddle, who advertised in the middle 1860’s as a manufacturer of black and galvanized telegraph wire.  Apparently, for a period of time, they also supplied other telegraph related products.  Examples have been found primarily in the West, mostly in California, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Montana and to the north in British Columbia.

Shallow, narrow flake stays mostly on the inside edge of the base (see slightly darker area below "Biddle"). Quite minor!  Otherwise, it's very near mint.

From the collection of the late Lawrence Carpenter.
