Description

#546      CD 136.4       Unembossed.      Vivid olive green.

Known as the "Canadian Boston," this style insulator has been found primarily in Canada, with a limited number of examples also surfacing in the US.  Most often found in aqua and blue, these darker green units are rarely encountered!

A beauty that's a different colour than the yellow green examples.  The great depth of color is further enhanced by an abundance of thick dome glass.  Neat, squiggly, dark impurity in the skirt.

Two side by side, shallow base flakes are visible at center of the second photo.  One is pinkie nail size, the other half the size of a pinkie nail.  These are small, and the remainder of base is excellent.

For the sake of accuracy, we'll mention a minor pressure bruise that's only 1/8" deep in the wire groove (see light line at center of second photo, on underside of top wire ridge).  Overall, in exceptional condition for this damage prone style, completely lacking the usual chips and flakes on the wire ridges!

From the collection of the late John Ayer.
