Description

#669      740       E. DUPONT     ST. JEAN       Green.     Base embossed.

The embossing represents Eusebe Dupont, who was involved with foundry work and also a glassworks in St John, Canada East (Quebec).  These rarities are many times more difficult to locate than the base embossed 740 "Foster Brothers" units, and especially desirable in this transparent green coloration.

Crudely made, pebbly surface is bright and shiny!  Especially nice overall condition with minor, mostly match head size, very thin flakes up from the base. Very shallow, pinkie nail base bruise.   Embossing is 99.9% intact.  A beauty!  Finding another this nice would be a challenge!

From the collection of the late John Ayer.
