Description

#696       CD 162      H.G. CO.   PETTICOAT.       Yellow amber.      Smooth base.

A rarely encountered color in a smooth base HG Co signal.  Most examples are darker than this beautiful gem!  Has nice honey yellow toning where the glass is thinner.

We could just call in "very near mint" and be done, but we'll describe the minor blemishes.  First off, there is a small open bubble on the wire ridge, appearing as a somewhat darkened area to the far right of first photo, and at center of second photo.  Not damage, but described anyway.  There is a very narrow, paper thin shave on the tip of the ridge, just behind the open bubble.  Shallow surface flake, the size of a match head on the upper part of the reverse wire ridge (at far right in second photo).  Small, shallow flake at the base (a little longer than a match-head), can be seen in the first photo, directly below the "H."

Very nice overall condition for this damage prone style with sharp wire ridge and sharp base corner.
