Description

#710        CD 113        WESTINGHOUSE   NO 4        Vivid blue.

Rich, vivd blue coloration!  Low voltage glass insulators with "Westinghouse" embossing are all quite scarce to rare.  They have been found in CD 102, 113, 134 and 162.   Some were produced in various vivid blue glass, possibly at a glass factory operated by Westinghouse in Pennsylvania.  Westinghouse produced high quality glass lenses and other commercial glass wares that required very high standards in relation to quality and color consistency.  Therefore, it stands to reason their insulators would be produced with excellent clarity and brightness.

Displays fairly well from the front, with chipping to the upper wire ridge visible most of the distance around.  Sizable piece missing from the rear skirt, as seen in the second photo.  A foam pad is adhered to the base to facilitate the insulator standing upright on a shelf.

A very conservative opening bid amount.... we'll see where it goes.
