#712 CD 124.2 PATENT DEC 19 1871 Light green aqua.
The various early Hemingray #4 mold styles with 1871 patent date are quite desirable among collectors, including CD 124.1, 124.2 and 124.3. The CD 124.2 is noticeably harder to locate than the CD 124.3.
The embossing is quite small in comparison to most dome embossed "1871" insulators. All lettering is present, but a ripple pattern over a portion partly mutes some letters.
Bright, clean glass. Combined pinhead mark and pinhead flake on the skirt is trivial. A couple wooden match-head size areas of fine flaking at the base corner. In other words, the insulator easily grades very near mint.
