Description

#764       CD 134      T-HE CO.       Dark amber.       Inverted "2" on dome.

A seldom encountered item, produced for the Thompson-Houston Electric Company.  A limited number of examples have been found in Massachusetts.

The Thompson-Houston Electric Company was formed in 1882 and was involved with a merger in 1892 to form the General Electric Company, so these "mold line over dome" insulators were likely produced sometime during that 10 year time span.

Flake, up from the base, below the "H" is 1/3 pinkie nail size.  Flake above the wire ridge on reverse is 2/3 pinkie nail size, and a small flake on the reverse dome, both visible in the second photo.

From the collection of the late John Ayer.
