#819 735 MULFORD & BIDDLE Aqua with milk.
Produced for Mulford & Biddle, a company which advertised in the middle 1860’s as a manufacturer of black and galvanized telegraph wire. Apparently, for a period of time, they also supplied other telegraph related material.
Examples of the 735 with Mulford & Biddle marking have been found primarily in the West, mostly in California, Nevada, Wyoming, Montana and to the north in British Columbia.
Small, very thin flake can be seen below the "E." Similar, very minor flakes on the base. Grades very near mint overall, which is quite nice for this style threadless! Tumble cleaned.
