#877 723.3 Unmarked. Aqua.
Known as the "Smooth Wade," this cylindrical threadless insulator was used with a wooden cover, as shown in the second photo.
They were used at various locations, mostly in the Midwest and on the 1861 transcontinental telegraph line constructed by Western Union Telegraph Company.
This one is NOT tumble cleaned, still retaining a partially iridescent surface from exposure to the elements in the ground. Aside from the somewhat hazy surface, the glass remains in spectacular condition!!!
