#1001 CD 158 Unembossed. Aqua. Four segmented threads.
Although very similar in most ways to the embossed “Boston Bottle Works,” this example was produced as an unembossed insulator. Not an under poured inner skirt! This one was intentionally produced with no embossing. A rarely encountered variant, as most 158’s were made with the BBW marking.
Produced using Samuel Oakman's 1872 patented threading process, which resulted in segmented threads (third photo).
Base bruise and shallow dome bruise as seen in the second photo.
