#1087 CD 162 HEMINGRAY MADE IN U.S.A. NO 19. Unusual blue.
Large numeral "1" on top of dome.
The highly unusual blue coloration is the result of a little yellow being mixed into the blue glass batch. Some separation of color is noticeable at the dome top, where yellow contamination is more obvious.
Examples such as this are seldom encountered, and this one appears to be a lighter density than those previously seen.
A special color variant for the signal specialist, or any collector seeking oddities.
Chip on the inside of the skirt removes two and one half drip points and partially flakes another. Otherwise, three separate, individual drip points are partially flaked. Entire outer portion of the insulator and the inner skirt remain excellent!
UPDATE: 11:30 A.M. Friday, March 26. Third photo added for color comparison. Lot #1087, unusual blue Hemingray 19 is shown on the left. The center item is a regular cobalt blue. Right item is sapphire blue. Center and right items not part of this lot.
