#1138 CD 235 PYREX JP MADE IN ENGLAND 5662 Nearly colorless with straw tint.
A Pyrex insulator with additional highly unusual marking “MADE IN ENGLAND.” Found on the South Island of New Zealand.
Fortunately, the fate of this insulator and one other, ended on a positive note, as additional examples of the same type had been smashed to remove their metal pins for recycling. A metal thimble liner is intact inside the 1/2” pinhole.
Collectors of either foreign glass or rarities in general will find this item quite interesting and desirable!
After careful inspection, absolutely no damage or blemishes were found, but we'll play it safe and call it “very, very near mint.”
