Description

#1223     CD 162      H.G. CO.     PATENT MAY 2 1893.       PETTICOAT.       Glowing amber.

The term "glower" has been somewhat overused in the hobby.  We reserve describing insulators as "glowers" only when the color has exceptional amounts of brilliance and vibrancy.  This jewel certainly qualifies as a glower, as the glass has wonderful clarity and brightness, further enhanced with an abundance of glass thickness in the dome.

Attractive "whirlpool" creases spiral around the dome surface.

Pinkie nail inner skirt flake.  Several drip points are partially flaked, most appearing fully intact or nearly so from the outside.  Three drip points (at right in the photo) have somewhat more removal.  Base bruise (four drip points) below the "1893."  The above descriptions sounds worse than the insulator actually appears in person.   The photo shows the "worst" of the damage, which actually looks pretty decent.
