Description

#1250       CD 293       FRED M. LOCKE    VICTOR NY.       (patent dates)      Amethyst.

Examples of this type insulator were discovered in Louisiana many years ago.  Of those recovered, this one has more nicely pronounced amethyst coloration than the majority of examples.  The Locke - Victor embossing is nicely pronounced.  Embossed dates are visible, but weak.

The majority of examples found had some type of damage, this one faring better than many!  Has a shallow, pinkie nail chip above the wire groove and a finger nail bruise on the middle skirt.  Another bruise, up from the base of the middle skirt, traverses 1/4 the distance around.   Displays quite well on the exterior from all sides!

Nice color... nice embossing,,,, nice display.
