Note the deformed threads, which from the outside, give an optical illusion similar to some New England produced insulators with "segmented" threads.
The various early Hemingray #4 mold styles with 1871 patent date are quite desirable among collectors, including CD 124.1, 124.2 and 124.3. The CD 124.3 is perhaps the latest of those three produced, which was later redesigned once again to become the CD 124.
