Description

#1525       CD 106.1      DUQUESNE     GLASS CO.       Cornflower blue.

A Duquesne "Peak Top" with character.  Attractive harelip on the base, and folds and creases on the glass surface.  Olive amber impurities streak through the skirt, adding even more character.

Produced by a glasshouse in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area.  The company made a limited number of insulator designs, all known examples being smaller styles for communication lines, including this "pony" design which is generally referred to by collectors as the "peak top" Duquesne.

Blue examples of the CD 106.1 were used in limited numbers, primarily in western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio.

Nice embossing!

Still retains a little "soot" on the interior which could be easily cleaned.  Very shallow, pencil eraser diameter flake on reverse wire ridge.  Otherwise, very near mint (minor, small, undamaged flat spots where it touched another surface when the glass was hot).
