Description

#1553       CD 145        L       H. G. CO.      PETTICOAT         Lavender.

A beautiful example that's a touch darker than Lot #1435 in Pole Top Discoveries' Mid August 2021, Sale #2106.

Examples with well saturated amethyst coloration are seldom encountered, and this one is both dark, and has special characteristics.  There's a well defined, diagonal crease/fold on the glass surface in front of the threaded pinhole. The fold distorts the view of the threads, creating a zig-zag, inverted "Z" pattern in the front dome, adding wonderful character!

HG Co beehive specialists take note... the mold letter above the "H.G. Co." embossing appears to be a normally positioned "L," not an inverted one.

Crude, hand scribed lettering is complete, and all legible.

Entire outer area of the insulator remains in perfect, or near perfect condition.  Shallow, match head base flake, and another shallow base flake that's half pinkie nail size.  Great condition for a base with an extra sharp corner all the way around!
