One of the earlier designs produced by the Hemingray Glass Company for Western Electric. These were made in various glass colors, this teal aqua jewel having rich qualities.
Most often, older Hemingray insulators are marked with a December 19, 1871 patent date. This one is different, with "Patent Applied For" marking on the skirt.
Glass on the base protrudes further down on one side, creating a neat lean to the right,
Very near mint (excess glass on base edge is flaked off).
