Description

#1720       CD 128       HEMINGRAY  E-1        Nearly colorless with light lemon tint.

Here's a seldom encountered insulator that is part of a three insulator series produced at the Hemingray plant in Muncie, Indiana.

Some collectors find the E-1, E-2 and E-3 set a challenge to assemble.

Pinkie nail bruise on the lower wire ridge.  Surface stain on the dome is 2/3 the size of a 50¢ coin and some lighter staining on the skirt surface indicate this may be an item which was dug at a large, off property dumpsite used by Hemingray in the 1930's.  A few collectors excavated the landfill during the late 1960's and 1970's.
