Description

#1779      CD 199      Emerald-prism.      Blue.

The "emerald" was a trademark of C.S. Knowles Company.  Insulators produced for them often included a large prism.  Additionally, many of their saddle groove designs also included a large, embossed 1890 patent date.

This sizable transposition type insulator was very prone to damage, especially the wide umbrella at top.

Shallow, pinkie nail chip on upper portion of the umbrella and some smaller blemishes on side of dome were likely caused from contact in the annealer at time of manufacture.  Three flat, fingernail chips on underside of umbrella can be seen in second photo.

Front displays excellent.
