Description

#1797      742       Unmarked.      Blue.

Attractive and scarce blue coloration in this threadless insulator, likely dating from the 1860's or early 1870's.  Most often encountered in aquamarine glass, the blue examples seldom surface.

Although unmarked, it's a style used widely by the Montreal Telegraph Company.

Flakes and shallow chips on the base, mostly from the sharp outer edge.  Chip on lower skirt is the size of penny (see second photo).  Glass surface is bright and shiny.
