Description

#1817       734       MC MICKING       VICTORIA B.C. 75        Aqua.

Robert McMicking was one of the "Overlanders" who travelled from eastern Canada to the West in the 1860's.  He was employed on the "Collins" line in British Columbia, and later became involved with other areas of the communication industry.

Most McMicking embossed insulators now in collections were recovered at two locations along the North Thompson River in British Columbia.  They were part of the materials left behind in the mid 1870's when an attempt to construct a cross-Canada land line was abandoned.

Two base chips.  One is the size of two pinkie nails placed end to end (visible to the right in the first photo).  The dark areas on both outer portions of the skirt in the first photo are natural shadows, and not related to any chips.  Second chip is smaller.  Otherwise, only a couple small base nibbles.

Buy-Now Price: $90
