#1844 CD 158 BOSTON BOTTLE WORKS. PATENT APPLIED FOR. Aqua.
Four segmented threads.
The Boston Bottle Works operated in Somerville, Massachusetts circa 1871-1877. The facility produced various articles of glass, including several different styles of telegraph insulators. Most insulators made at the BBW factory were produced with Samuel Oakman’s patented segmented threads.
Half pinkie nail size, shallow flake on the inside base edge. Smaller course spot on one of the hex corners.
"Boston Bottle Works" embossing is fully intact. A small portion of the "Patent Applied For" marking is not formed because of a slightly under poured inner skirt (no damage at all to inner skirt)
Bright sparkling glass and shiny surface!
Plunkett Family Collection. Discovered in New Jersey.
