Description

#1852       CD 113.2        DUQUESNE     GLASS CO.        Cornflower blue.

The Duquesne Glass Company operated a glass factory in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area for a period of time in the early 1900's.  They produced a limited number of communication style insulators, of which this "keg" design is the most difficult to locate.

The CD 106.1 was also produced by the same company, and is generally referred to by collectors as the "peak top" Duquesne.  This particular keg has a well pronounced, pointed top much like the CD 106.1 units, and has excellent cornflower blue coloration, also much like some of the "peak tops."

The kegs were used in limited numbers, primarily in western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio.

Has one clean chip, the size of a fingernail, above the reverse, upper wire ridge.  Remainder of insulator remains in wonderful condition.

Plunkett Family Collection.
