Description

#1881       CD 145       Unmarked.       Lavender.

Known as the "Grand Canyon Beehive," these unmarked insulators were produced in Valverde, Colorado.  In color, they very closely match insulators produced by the Western Flint Glass Company.

Many now in collections were found along a railroad that traversed from Williams, Arizona to the south rim of the Grand Canyon, thus the nickname.

This example has excellent depth of color, being darker than most examples.

Flat base chip (as seen in second photo) involves 1/4 of the base.  Has some normal surface annealing lines, one being a little deeper than than the others (as sen in second photo).

Plunkett Family Collection.
