Description

#2006      CD 151      H.G. CO.       PETTICOAT.       Bright depression green.

Wonderful depth of color in this example!

Excellent glass clarity and unusual coloration make these old Hemingray products popular with collectors.  Some were found on the “Rock Island” railroad right of way in Iowa many years ago.  Seldom seen for sale in recent years.

The Hemingray Glass Company manufactured various products besides insulators, including wares such as lamps.  Sometimes large glass batches initially created for lamps and other products were used in insulator production.  Likely, that's is the case with these "depression glass" green units, which have been found in very limited numbers.

Shallow, half pinkie nail flake on the base edge, and another on the wire ridge.  Otherwise, excellent condition.  Much nicer condition than most examples, and the attractive color depth make this a desirable example.
