Description

#2022       CD 102       WESTINGHOUSE   NO 3.       Bright  blue.

Produced with very high quality glass, possibly at a glasshouse operated by Westinghouse in Pennsylvania.  Few glass Westinghouse insulators are known in any styles, and the vivid blue examples are among the most highly sought.  The blue ponies are found in several different shades/hues, this being darker and brighter than some.

Some of the blue examples were found in Minnesota.

Wedge shaped fracture runs at a diagonal through the "T" into the lower portion of the threads, then back down on an angle to the right between the "SE."  Likely sealed with Opticon.  The lines starting at the "W" and traversing at an upward angle to the right is not damage, rather the typical surface glass separation present in many Westinghouse insulators
