Excellent depth of color. Attractive bubble enclosed in the upper portion of the skirt.
The dome embossed Brookfield and street address lettering is weak, but mostly legible. 1870 patent date on reverse dome shows an attempt to blot out, but the lettering is still partly discernible.
Examples in amethyst coloration are reported to have been found in several different states, some as far south as Florida.
Slightly longer than match head size, shallow flake below reverse wire groove, and a smaller than pencil eraser diameter flake on reverse dome. Otherwise excellent. Considering the above, it would grade very near mint.
