Description

#2052     CD 162     H.G .CO.     PATENT MAY 2 1893     PETTICOAT.        Blue with red streaks.

A very unusual blue coloration with "Rustoleum red" streaks.  The steaks appear dark or black in the back lighted photo, but with ambient or front lighting, they are primer red colored.

The exotic blue glass is a cross between peacock blue and electric blue, with somewhat of a turquoise tint.  Quite an unusual and rarely seen variant that the late Bill Reid termed "electricock" blue.  The example in his collection also had the same type, primer red streaks.

H.G. Co signals in this color rarely surface for sale!

Drip points remain undamaged.  Outer area of the insulator in very near mint+ condition!  Coarseness at start of threaded pinhole.

Update: 6 P.M. Monday, December 6.  Third photo added, showing a closeup of the "Rustoleum primer" red impurity, as it appears on the inside of the inner skirt.  Photo also shows the coarse area at base of pinhole, somewhat resembling the "breakout" area at top of pinhole in the bottom section to a two-piece transposition, a mine insulator or CD 187.
