Exceptionally BOLD embossing! The boldest embossing we've ever encountered on a McKee threadless!!!
Note the unusual overall configuration of this particular example! The skirt is shorter than usual... the "concave" portion is positioned much lower than normal, which is usually centered in the skirt. The dome is also unusual. There's a very pronounced upward extension of the dome to the "button" top.
Produced by S. McKee & Company in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area during the 1860's. Although McKee threadless insulators were used in various locations, many of those now in collections surfaced on the original route of the Union Pacific Railroad in Wyoming and Utah.
Flat base chip. Otherwise, very near mint, with a little haziness to portions of the glass surface.
