#2080 THE E.S.G. & CO. Light aqua.
Spool with 1-7/8" height.
A rather scarce embossing, representing E.S. Greeley & Company, an electrical supply house in New York City, which succeeded L.G. Tillotson & Company after Luther Tillotson's death in 1885.
An item that's seldom available for purchase.
Just a little, light flaking along the base edge.
Update: 2:40 P.M. Monday, December 6. Our original description for this item listed it as a CD 1080. This was based on the item having an upper section that was narrow (space between top of insulator and top of wire groove) and a narrow wire groove (space between top of wire groove and bottom of wire groove), versus a CD 1085 which we interpreted to have a wider top section and wider wire groove. A collector has made contact, stating this item is now listed in the latest price guide as a CD 1085, rather than a CD 1080. Rather than attempt of sort through any minor technicalities and confusing differences, we have dropped the "CD number" from the description above. It's an old, historical piece of glass... please simply use the above photo to determine your interest.
A second image, showing the embossing, has been added. Note there are "two lines" of embossing. The first line consists of the lettering "THE E.S.G." arced upward. The second line consists of "& CO." arced downward.
