Description

#2112       721     Raised dashes.      Aqua.

This small "Wade" type insulator with wood cover was used in Canada.  Only limited numbers have been found, and are especially elusive with the original wood cover.  They have been found primarily along railways in Ontario.

Four rows of three raised dashes are formed on the surface of the glass, provided to aid in the the adherence of the glass to the wooden shield.  Black tar was used as a cement between the wood and glass components.

Some deterioration of the wood cover, forming a window which perfectly exposes the glass cylinder within.  The glass portion has a 3/4" skirt fracture and a piece missing in the skirt (as shown in the photos), but still displays quite well.

From the collection of the late Cecil Boos.
