Description

#2179     CD 134      WESTINGHOUSE  NO 6       Rich peacock blue.

A rarely encountered and amazingly colorful item!

Embossed CD 134 Westinghouse insulators in any color seldom surface for sale.  Those in exotic blue are few and far between!  It's not unusual for years to pass between offerings of this type insulator.

When attempting to place a value on a choice item such as this, one can't help but compare it to an item like an electric blue CD 257 Hemingray "Mickey Mouse."  There are 15 to 20 times more of the 257's in the hobby than blue Westinghouse signals.  We've witnessed mice selling for $5000, $6000 and higher.  So, what's an even more colorful and much rarer Westinghouse valued???

No chips, no dings, no flakes. Wonderful condition!  Like most Westinghouse insulators, it has a couple shallow annealing lines on the inside surface of the skirt.  Another is present near the top of the pinhole.  All are visible in the photo, and in our opinion, do no harm.

A beauty!

From the collection of the late Cecil Boos.
