#2216 CD 161 CALIFORNIA Multi-color.
Produced in Long Beach, California, by a glass factory which operated as the California Glass Insulator Company, and later as the California Glass Works.
Various styles of “California” insulators were made using “multi-colored” glass. The ratio of glass colors varies greatly from item to item, so a sizable collection of differing blends can be assembled. This signal style gem consists of about equal amounts of amethyst and green. The well saturated, amethyst bands are especially pronounced in the dome.
