The color is a reddish-purple tone of puce.
Two machinists from New Jersey, who had insulator collecting friends in the area, decided to make a couple small molds and produce insulator novelties. The result.... these double groove "insulators," complete with internal screw thread. The "B - T Glass Co" embossing represented the first names of the men... Bob and Tom. They were produced in very limited numbers, and are rarely encountered by collectors today.
Embossing is complete on this tall, over-poured example.
Reverse has a chip on the over-poured flange at the base. Otherwise, very, very near mint.
