#2255 CD 162.3 W. BROOKFIELD NEW YORK Amethyst.
Large, stocky "signal" style insulator produced by Brookfield. Thick glass and a broad design resulted in a very heavy insulator!
Fellow collector Dave Potts relates: "They were used on a PG&E telephone/telemetering circuit in Vacaville Ca. The central office was their Vacaville switching center and the stations were the city water wells scattered around town. There are no traces of these lines left today." Dave and collector friend Larry Reed (now deceased) removed several examples of these jewels "back in the day."
Base and outer area remain in very near mint+ condition. Inner skirt chip (visible in photo - at lower center) is about the size of a pinkie nail.
