"CAUVET'S PAT JULY 25 1865" embossed with large, bold lettering on dome. Very impressive embossing!
One of the earliest threaded insulator types produced in America.
Four small, surface impact marks on the reverse doem. Two are wooden match head size, and two are slightly larger. Two spots below the base edge have flaking. One area is a tad longer than two wooden match heads. The other similar in size to the diameter to two pencil erasers.
A great looking item.
